The Best Classic and Modern Video Game T-Shirts

Video games have been widely used entertainment devices for at least the past 30 years. They have been presented to gamers on various platforms from arcade games, to personal computer games, to console games, and more. While no two gamers will ever agree on which platforms are the best for gaming, we’ve created a comprehensive list of the best classic and modern video game t-shirts, that all gamers are likely to agree on!

Classic Video Game T-Shirts:

Atari

Atari personal gaming consoles have been around since the mid-1970s and originally offered challenge games like “Pong” and “Outlaw.” However, the gaming system quickly created more advanced games like the popular game “Space Invaders.” As one of the first systems to offer video games from your home television, Atari is an integral part of gaming history. Thus, shirts like these Atari logo t-shirts will always be popular for the video game community.

Nintendo

The Nintendo Entertainment System was released in the U.S. in 1985, with nearly 20 games, one of which was the ever popular “Super Mario Brothers.” The Mario Bros, who are still around on the Nintendo WII today, are an icon of the gaming industry. The iconic character Link was shot into fame shortly after by 1987’s, “The Legend of Zelda,” his first of many appearances. All of these characters, as well as classic Nintendo logos, are still very recognizable and make for some of the best video game shirts.

Sega

While Sega launched their gaming system in 1983, the console did not fully succeed in the U.S. until the second version of the system, The Sega Genesis, was released. With the Sega Genesis came the brand’s most popular character and system mascot, "Sonic the Hedgehog". Gamers know this character for his spin attack, his trusty sidekick Tails, and a mission of collecting Rings. Our Sega t-shirts feature many of these traits gamers know and love.

Other Systems

Other notable video game platforms that became mainstream starting in the early 1970s are arcade games and computer games. No, you can’t play against anyone except your own score or the computer, but who doesn’t love classic games like "Pac-Man" and "Oregon Trail"? Seriously, there’s no one who doesn’t love these games. These tees are no-brainer for making our list.

Modern Video Game T-Shirts:

Modern video games are a lot of what keep gamers, for lack of a better term, gaming today. And, as opposed to classic video games where you had your favorite brand of console and played your way through the games offered only on your computer or television screen, you can play games anywhere and with anyone: MMORPGs, online first person shooters, applications, etc., etc. Today’s gamers can quite literally take their games on the go. But, these gamers shouldn’t be kept off the list just because of the accessibility of their favorite form of entertainment. Some of our favorite modern video game shirts are from games like "World of Warcraft", "Angry Birds" and "Call of Duty: Black Ops".
