The Stories Behind 6 Pink Floyd Album Covers

Pink Floyd were one of rock’s most successful bands, both in terms of commercial impact and their influence on rock music and technology. The band expanded the reach of progressive and psychedelic rock even as they dabbled in country and blues, even electronica. They were known for their elaborate live shows that pushed the technological boundaries of lighting and speaker systems as well as display screens. But Pink Floyd were also known for their artistic vision, and their album covers are some of the most recognizable in rock music history. Here are the stories behind six of those albums.

The Goonies: Never Say Die

In the 30 years since its release, The Goonies has been widely recognized as a cult classic. While firmly rooted in the 1980s—Cyndi Lauper and the Bangles on the soundtrack is proof enough of that—the story is truly timeless. After all, a movie about oddball kids outsmarting dimwitted criminals and saving their neighborhood from demolition could easily be released this year! And who doesn’t dream about crawling through old tunnels, disarming Rube Goldberg-like traps, and finding pirate treasure? (That CAN'T just be us.) The most wonderful thing about The Goonies, though, is its cast. Over the past 30 years, many of its then young and unknown actors have found great success throughout the entertainment industry. If you find yourself asking “where else do I know them from?”, read on!

Along the way, they made some fantastic records with now iconic cover art. These are the stories behind the artwork on four such albums.

Boba Fett: The Most Interesting Bounty Hunter Meme

There was a time when Boba Fett was a mystery to us all. We knew that he was a bounty hunter that didn’t say much and had a reputation for disintegrating people, and that was about it. Despite a mere 20 minutes of on-screen time throughout the entire original Star Wars trilogy, though, he remains one of the Star Wars Universe's most iconic characters. (We’re not including screen time in the Star Wars Holiday Special, because we have standards.) We'll wager that if you've read this far and are looking for Boba Fett and Slave Leia memes, you probably know all this, so let's get to it. Here are some memes we found in the cargo...
